Princess Party Ideas - Give Your Little Girl the Royal Treatment

 by: John Lenaghan

If you?ve got a special little girl between the ages of about 3 & 7, then a princess birthday party could be the big social event of the year!

When looking for princess party ideas, it?s obvious to think of pink but don?t limit your imagination to pink fluffy dresses and pink frosting for birthday cakes. With some imagination, your ideas can create a very special party!

Let?s start with decorations. Helium balloons can create a stunning castle arch and once your guests are indoors then have them sit on a princess throne for a souvenir photo in an overstuffed chair which has been decorated with floral garlands, crepe paper or shiny fabric.

Activities for Princess Parties

Princesses love to wear crowns. You can buy inexpensive plastic crowns as well as fake "jewels" for each princess to make a birthday party hat. Inexpensive beading sets can be used to make princess jewelry. Invite a storyteller to the party to read a dramatic fairy tale or two involving a princess. Or give your princesses a chance to act out their own plays based on simple fairy tales.

Games for a princess party might include a poster of a white knight on a horse instead of the old pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey game. Invite each princess to build a castle of marshmallows, gumdrops, soft candies and toothpicks. Ideas don?t need to be complex but they should involve action if your princesses are between the ages of 4 ? 7.

Birthday party food ideas to feed your princesses include ladyfinger sandwiches, small servings of tea, dainty pastries and other ?princess? finger foods. A birthday cake for a princess can be decorated with a blue frosting pond with Frog Prince seated on a lily pad.

Let your birthday creativity rule for great ideas and great fun!

Successful Network Marketing Requires Effective Team Leadership

Successful Network Marketing Requires Effective Team Leadership

 by: Kirk Bannerman

Many people who work at home participate in businesses that

involve teamwork and network marketing.

I am often contacted by members of my business team with

complaints regarding a lack of response or lack of action on the

part of their affiliates.
Their complaints typically go

something like..."I send out lots of emails to all of them and I

very rarely get any response and it seems like very few of them

are taking any action.
What am I doing wrong?".

There are many types of internet-based home businesses where

feedback and interaction are quite important and getting an

affiliate or business team member to communicate with you is a

definite objective.
It's not at all surprising that this can be

a challenge when you stop to think that what you are trying to do

is initiate a dialog between...

Miscellaneous Racing Sports

 by: Joel Noah

Racing is a sport that has been in existence literally for thousands of years. It?s certainly progressed since the days of the chariot races in ancient Greece but the drive behind racing still remains the same. When people race, regardless if it?s cars, boats, horses or themselves they do it to win. Being declared the fastest is the ultimate goal.

Races have progressed significantly since their inception. History shows that the first races were on foot; two or more men racing one another to determine which was the fastest. We still have foot races today and they can be incredibly competitive with challengers vying for the prestige of Olympic gold medals.

Races involving cars have gained popularity in recent years. Motor sports fans can attest the fact that watching a Formula One or NASCAR race can get the blood pumping. The drivers race at breakneck speeds with an incredible amount of precision....

Winter Coughs - Not A Good Wheeze!

Winter Coughs - Not A Good Wheeze!

 by: Mark Andrews

It's not just horseback riders that cough and wheeze at this time of year. Respiratory problems are common in horses as well. Loss of performance may be the first sign that something is wrong. Mildly affected animals may cough occasionally when eating or when starting work. As the condition gets worse they may cough almost continuously.

Why is coughing such a problem in the winter? We need look no further than the changes in management that accompany the colder weather. Horses spend more time inside, often stabled in close proximity to their companions, giving any infection the opportunity to spread. They are exposed to irritants and allergens in the hay and bedding.

Recurrent airway obstruction (also known as COPD, or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is the horse equivalent of human asthma . It is an allergic condition, in which the horse reacts to small particles in the air. Chief...

Diners - An American Icon

Diners - An American Icon

 by: Barbara Wangelid

The definition of a diner is typically a narrow structure resembling a railroad dining car with the interior containing a service counter with stools for seating. Food preparation is along the back wall behind the counter.

History

The first "diners" back in the 1890's were horse drawn wagons on wheels that would park on the city streets and serve their meals similar to today's "fast food" concept.

By the 1920's, diners were manufactured as a permanent structure resembling the original wagon style. The style changed into a more streamlined appearance by the 1930's but business was not brisk until after the depression.

The demand increased after 1945 and spread to the midwest when there were a dozen diner manufacturers making the diners with many modern amenities including air conditioning, stainless steel exteriors and large windows. This surge lasted about 15 years until the advent...

How To Care For Your New Foal

How To Care For Your New Foal

 by: Mark Andrews

You have waited eleven months for your foal to arrive. Now he is here what can you do to ensure he gets off to the best possible start in life?

Make sure that the foal sucks. A normal foal should stand and drink from the mare within two hours. If the foal is having difficulty sucking, or is not interested, he may have serious problems. Call an experienced horse vet sooner rather than later.

Colostrum, the first milk, is very important. It contains all the antibodies your foal needs to protect him from infectious disease. A foal needs between 1.5 - 2 litres of good quality colostrum. It is most important to make sure he gets enough.

If the foal won't suck you can collect some colostrum from the mare and give it by bottle. Or the vet can put it directly into the foal's stomach using a tube. Colostrum substitutes are available if the mare doesn't have any milk.

The foal's intestines...

The Pursuit of Greatness

The Pursuit of Greatness

 by: Jeremy Likness

On June 3rd, 1948, a blast rocked the Black Hills of South Dakota. Ten tons of stone were dislodged from the mountainside and tumbled to the earth below. Earlier that day, a man named Korczak had ascended the mountain and single-jacked four holes at 6,740 feet above sea level.

Single-jacking is the practice of placing a drill-bit against hard rock, slamming it with a four-pound sledge hammer, then rotating the drill and banging it again until the hole is finished. It is a labor-intensive effort and a single man might only drill six to eight feet over the course of a day.

Over the following years more than eight million tons of rock would be blasted away. What was once a silent silhouette in stone began to take on a new shape. It would not be until over a decade after Korczak's death ? a full fifty years after he single-jacked the first holes ? that the face of his muse, the proud Lakota warrior...

Buyer's Guide to Shooting Glasses

 by: Brad Justus

Shooters of all kinds require eye protection, whether at the range or in the field. The majority of shooting activities take place in close proximity to the face. Facing the possibility of ricochets, flying objects (ejecting shells, etc), wind, sun and dust, it only makes sense to use good eye protection. Although everyday sunglasses are better than nothing, you're much better off with a pair of protective glasses...
